Volunteers

2026 Parent Volunteers:

Our team relies on parents to assist with running the swim meets. This includes meet starters and stroke and turn judges. You must volunteer at least 3 times throughout the season. It's easy to do and is critical to our team.

Can't volunteer at meets, we have other jobs that you can do:

  • Social Chairs
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Ribbon labels
  • Social media picture taker

Job Descriptions

Starter: The Starter has complete control over the swimmers from the time the Referee signals the start of the race until after a fair start has been achieved. The Starter must be certified either by USA Swimming or by the league’s online training.

Stroke & Turn Judges: Stroke and Turn Judges determine whether the swimmers perform their strokes and turns in accordance with the prescribed rules. The Judge must be certified either by USA Swimming or by the league’s online training. With Swimmingly, you DO NOT NEED DQ SLIPS!

Scorekeeper: The Scorekeeper should be familiar with the use of the Swimmingly Scorekeeping App on the iPad. They will work closely with the Referee, Starter and Timers to ensure that the results are recorded properly. Experience is desired. NO MANUAL DATA ENTRY REQUIRED.

Timers: Timers will use the Swimmingly app on their phones to record the results of the dual meets. NO PAPER NEEDED! Must have a fully charged phone and the ability to turn your phone to do not desturb.

Runners: Help move kids from ready bench to their lanes or the other side of the pool for relays. Make sure swimmers are moving up as heats progress.

Clerk of Course/ready bench: The Clerk of Course is responsible for lining up the swimmers in their heats and lanes and ensuring that they are properly lined up behind the blocks for their events. This is particularly important for the younger swimmers. The meet only runs smoothly if this is done correctly!!!!!

Heat winner: Hand out prizes or ribbons to swimmers that place first in their heat.

League Championship Meet

The highlight of our season is the League Championship Meet, held every July. This event brings together all league teams for an exciting conclusion to the season, with races, awards, and plenty of team spirit. It’s a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and progress shown by every swimmer throughout the season.
